Young Farmer Rebate (YFR)
As a young farmer, you are integral to shaping rural Manitoba. MASC is committed to your success, providing specialized assistance through such programs as the Bridging Generations Initiative (BGI).
The Young Farmer Rebate (YFR), a component of the BGI, assists young, beginning and expanding farmers with limited equity to develop or expand their farming operations. As an eligible young farmer, you can receive a {max_rebate}% rebate on the first ${max_principal} of principal for the first five years of an MASC loan (lifetime maximum rebate of ${max_lifetime}).

Program Features
The Young Farmer Rebate is an annual {program_details::max_rebate}% rebate on the first ${program_details::max_principal} of principal, and is available for each of the first five years of the loan. The lifetime maximum per individual is ${program_details::max_lifetime}, so any unused YFR portion after a loan's repayment can be applied to subsequent loans.
Eligibility
Eligible Applicants
To qualify for the Young Farmer Rebate, you must be 18-39 years of age, a Manitoba resident, and you personally operate the farm to which the loan applies.
Partnerships, corporations, or cooperative farming operations are eligible for one rebate, where at least one partner or shareholder would be eligible if they applied as an individual for a loan. The maximum rebate to a partnership, corporation or cooperative is the same as for an individual borrower.
Eligible Loans
The YFR applies to qualifying individual, joint farm unit, corporate and partnership loans with amortization terms of five years or more. A corporate or partnership farm is eligible for one rebate where at least one partner or shareholder would be eligible if he/she applied as an individual for an MASC loan.
Note: The rebate is not available on Environmental Enhancement Loans, Alternate Energy Loans, or Comprehensive Refinancing Loans.
