Manitoba Forage Assistance Program
The 2008 growing season has seen significant levels of rain in some areas of Manitoba, while other areas of the province have experienced excessively dry conditions. Hay crops, unfortunately, have either been ruined or the fields are so wet that producers can't collect hay that's already been baled.
The Manitoba Forage Assistance Program (MFAP), announced September 5th, 2008 by Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives Minister Rosann Wowchuk, will provide financial assistance to help producers with the transport of feed or livestock due to excess moisture or drought conditions.
